How to clean, care & protect Aniline leather

Leather Cleaning Spirit is suitable for: Removing grease and traces of care products from nappa leather before repairing it with COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather or refreshing the colour with COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh. Be careful to dab the leather lightly to avoid stains or rims forming, especially on porous leather (aniline, suede or nubuck). Always let the leather dry thoroughly between applications. Not every greasy spot can be removed completely! If you are having difficulty, please ask us for advice. After cleaning with the Leather Cleaning Spirit, the leather should be treated with a leather protector.

Leather Fresh is a colour refresher (dye) for scratches, worn, or faded leather. Leather Fresh is ideal to refresh colour damages on car leather, furniture leather, leather garments and handbags. Do not use on porous leathers unless colouring the entire surface - it can make the surface appear patchy. It can be sponged on or sprayed using an airbrush.  Application Always test any products first on a hidden area to test for colour match!Firstly, clean the leather thoroughly and prepare the surface. Use Mild Leather Cleaner for normal degrees of soiling or Strong Leather Cleaner to remove heavier dirt (where the leather has been neglected for many years). Cleaning prior to treatment ensures the paint bonds to the surface well and ensures durability. Use Leather Cleaning Brush to effectively remove all ingrained dirt. Cleaning removes dirt but for long lasting results you should also de-grease using Leather Cleaning Spirit.Use a sponge to apply the colour evenly, working from seam to seam. Dry afterwards with a hair dryer. On small spots, a one application is sufficient. Apply multiple thin layers and dry each layer using a hair dryer.A day later, after it dries, apply Leather Protector. It gives the leather a good sheen and helps blend the repair. It contains antioxidants, which stops the leather's decay, and its UV filters protect the surfaces of old and valuable leathers from bleaching and fading. Also keeps the leather supple.  46 standard colours and prepare special colours according to sample or manufacturer name.

Ideal for cleaning leather car and furniture upholstery, bags, suitcases or garments.The Leather Cleaner is provided in a foam dispenser bottle. Foams clean the leather more efficiently than liquid agents, the consumption is considerably smaller, and the leather does not become wet, which could otherwise become hard after drying.Firstly, clean the leather thoroughly before refreshing the colour or applying care products. Use COLOURLOCK Mild Leather Cleaner against normal soiling. Cleaning before treatment prevents the dirt sticking to the leather's surface. Our COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning Brush effectively removes ingrained dirt (use circular motions and work from seam to seam). Do not apply to the leather directly! Clean the leather from seam to seam using the foam; repeat several times, if necessary. Remove dirty foam residue with a slightly moistened piece of cloth, then allow to dry.On older leathers, stains might sink into the surface, or perceived dirt might actually be colour damage. Such stains cannot always be removed by cleaning, in which case, use COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh for refreshing the colour, or ask us for advice.These products are also suitable for "Cool Leather/SRT (SunReflective Technology) Leather"! IngredientsMild Leather Cleaner Ingredients according to "INCI" (International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredients): AQUA, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE Ingredients of the odorants and preserving agents according to "INCI" METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE (The INCI information assists persons who are allergic to certain compounds, which are harmless to most other persons, in identifying these.) Ingredients explained in a more understandable way: The Mild Leather Cleaner is a gentle cleaner adjusted to the pH value of leather.

The Waterproofing Spray is a gentle anti-stain protection for sensitive nubuck and suede leather as well as textiles. Available in 200 ml and 500 ml cans. Areas of application: Garments, shoes, cushions, bags, saddles, tents etc.ApplicationAlways test any products first on a hidden area in case they affect the colour.Spray on a clean and dry surface horizontally, from a distance of approx. 40 cm, thinly and evenly. Allow to dry. For heavily strained surfaces repeat as necessary. It should also be reapplied after cleaning. Apply according to instructions and warnings on the label.Important: The waterproofing will not make absorbent leather fully water-resistant. It increases protection, but the surfaces nevertheless have to be treated gently.

Aniline Cream offers intensive protection for all fine-pore, matt and sensitive top-grain leathers. To check if your leather is aniline, simply put a small drop of water onto the surface. If it soaks in and darkens the surface, then you will need to protect it against dirt and stains.Amount: 250 ml (sufficient for a complete set of furniture), 1 litreApplication areas: Furniture Leather, Leather ClothingFor: Aniline leather, Pull Up leather, Semi-aniline leatherUsed regularly, COLOURLOCK Aniline Cream provides a strong barrier against all types of stains and soiling. This treatment is best applied at an early stage as a preventative measure as stains that have already been absorbed into the leather are hard to remove without professional help.Typical areas of application: All kinds of fine-pore, matt, porous top-grain leather furniture The Volkswagen Touareg aniline leather All porous garment leather (top-grain leather) Porous top-grain calf shoe leather For glossy aniline leather, use COLOURLOCK Gloss Cream. Coarse-pore or very sensitive aniline leather should be treated with COLOURLOCK Waterproofing for nubuck and textile. Read more about aniline leather here. The Aniline Cream should only be applied to clean leather! Always test any products first on a hidden area in case they affect the colour.  Application Wet a soft, lint-free cloth slightly with the Aniline Cream and apply evenly in a circular motion, from seam to seam, on the leather's surface. Wait about ten minutes and repeat application. New aniline leather should be treated at least three times in order to prevent stains and discolouration. When finished, warm the surface slightly with a hair dryer. This improves the protective effect. Strained surfaces should be treated at least every three months. Clean the leather carefully with COLOURLOCK Aniline Cleaner before each treatment. This is a gentle cleaner but not suitable for nubuck or suede. Slightly moisten a soft, lint-free piece of cloth with the Cleaner and clean in a circular motion from seam to seam - never apply directly on the leather! Soak up moisture and dirt immediately with a suitable cloth. Avoid too much pressure while rubbing. Test on a hidden area first. Please note that drawn-in stains cannot be removed using the Aniline Cleaner (see pictures). In these cases, please ask us for advice.

For new aniline or suede leather, we recommend our Aniline & Suede Protector. It protects the leather from drying and bleaching. To guard against stains, the leather should additionally be treated with our COLOURLOCK Waterproofing for nubuck leather and textile clothing. Ideally this should be done within a year, and more frequently afterwards. The waterproofing is always applied last.  Application Always test any products first in a hidden area for changes or colour correctness! Use according to instructions on the label.
