How to treat squeaks and disturbing sounds

LEISOL Quiet Cream prevents creaking noises and reduces wear caused by friction. LEISOL is a liquid lubricating varnish in a pump spray bottle. It can be applied to exposed surfaces and, because of its liquid nature, it is also easy to use in inaccessible areas. PEOX is a water-based paste which dries transparently to create a durable protective film. It is used on invisible areas to prevent squeaking noises and reduce wear from friction. The product should be applied in a thin layer on contact areas using a piece of cloth. For visible areas, or on surfaces prone to rust, use LEISOL quiet cream. Friction sounds are always a sign of wear and tear! THE PREPARATION First, find the source of the noise. Ask for help if the area is not easy to identify. Often it’s necessary to uncover the affected area. This may require disassembling parts. Clean the area before application. Use PEOX on invisible areas and LEISOL for visible but inaccessible parts. Rub some PEOX into a cloth and apply on the respective surfaces and let dry. Please note that PEOX can cause corrosive surfaces to rust. Also don’t apply on acrylic glass or safety-relevant parts like braking systems, etc. PEOX ANTI-FRICTION CREAM PEOX ANTI-FRICTION CREAM is a water-based paste which dries to a transparent and durable protective film. Areas of application: Rust-proof guide rails, lever guides, hinges, switches, threads. Contact materials: Plastic, artificial leather, leather and fabrics, including micro-fibre fabrics.Cleaning: Excess residue can be removed with a damp cloth moistened with hot water.

This is usually sufficient for a complete set of furniture or car interior. ; 500 mlApplication areas: Car Leather, Furniture Leather, Bags & Accessories, Alcantara & TextileFabrics like Alcantara and Amaretta are ultra-microfibre materials (synthetic materials) which have a surface like suede.These fabrics should be vacuumed at regular intervals and occasionally wiped with a damp cloth. COLOURLOCK Alcantara & Fabric Cleaner is ideal for removing dirt and stains from Alcantara car and furniture upholstery.Cleaning big surfaces: Wet the stained surface slightly with COLOURLOCK Alcantara & Fabric Cleaner and immediately wipe gently with a terry cloth. Repeat as necessary.Removing stains: Wet a sponge or a soft brush with some cleaner. Press the foam out of the sponge. Clean the stained area in a circular motion. Then wipe with a damp cloth. Don`t rub too hard or make it too wet. If stains prove difficult to remove, you are advised to consult a professional upholstery cleaner to avoid damaging the material.Fresh stains should be absorbed immediately with an absorbent, clean cloth. Either dab or work from outside of the stain to the centre. Do not rub too hard. With larger stains, work from seam to seam.For greasy and waxy stains use COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning Spirit. Work carefully. Test in a hidden area first.To reduce future soiling and stains, protect the surface with COLOURLOCK Waterproofing for Leather & Textiles. Keep heat away from Alcantara. For example cigarette burns can cause irreparable damage.Alcantara is prone to pilling. Abrasion causes the fibres to develop into small spherical nodules. If the surface is not too damaged, it can be restored with the COLOURLOCK Sanding Pad (see video). But if the material is too badly damaged, it has to be replaced. ApplicationAlways test any products first on a hidden area in case they affect the colour. Spray the area Wipe with terry In case of stains, use a sponge and press cleaning foam Clean the stains circularly with the foam Shake bottle before use. Apply some cleaner on a sponge and press the foam out of it. Clean the surface in a circular motion. If necessary,repeat treatment after drying. Then rub with a slightly moistened cloth.Cleaning of large surfaces: Slightly moisten the soiled surface with the Cleaner and immediately soak up with a terry cloth. Repeat as necessary. Removal of stains: Apply the Cleaner to a sponge or soft brush. Clean the surface in a circular motion. Rub with a slightly moistened cloth.. Fresh stains should be soaked up immediately with an absorbent, clean cloth. Either dab or work from outside the stain to the centre. Do not rub too hard. With larger stains, work from seam to seam. Please note: it is not possible to remove stains that have penetrated the surface of alcantara and other fabrics. It is therefore essential to deal with stains quickly and efficiently.

Be careful to dab the leather lightly to avoid stains or rims forming, especially on porous leather (aniline, suede or nubuck). Always let the leather dry thoroughly between applications. Not every greasy spot can be removed completely! If you are having difficulty, please ask us for advice. After cleaning with the Leather Cleaning Spirit, the leather should be treated with a leather protector.

The Waterproofing Spray is a gentle anti-stain protection for sensitive nubuck and suede leather as well as textiles. Available in 200 ml and 500 ml cans. Areas of application: Garments, shoes, cushions, bags, saddles, tents etc.ApplicationAlways test any products first on a hidden area in case they affect the colour.Spray on a clean and dry surface horizontally, from a distance of approx. 40 cm, thinly and evenly. Allow to dry. For heavily strained surfaces repeat as necessary. It should also be reapplied after cleaning. Apply according to instructions and warnings on the label.Important: The waterproofing will not make absorbent leather fully water-resistant. It increases protection, but the surfaces nevertheless have to be treated gently.

The Leather Sanding Pad is ideal for:  Smoothing rough areas before applying COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh or COLOURLOCK Liquid Leather. Cleaning greasy areas on nubuck and suede. Careful sanding during professional colouring in the workshop. Amount: 1 piece. One pad is sufficient for a complete set of furniture or car interior.; Pack of 5 Application Rub the leather gently with the pad in a circular motion. Avoid gouging and deep scratches. Both faces of the pad can be used. It can be washed out with water.  Before colouring nappa leather, the surfaces should be sanded carefully. Our Leather Sanding Pad is ideal for this step.
