Old Leather Softener
Leather hardens through age and also lack of care. If the leather has not been used for a long time the fibres will dry out through lack of movement. Heat also causes leather to shrink. Originally most vehicle leather was the processed vegetable tanned variety which hardens and shrinks at a temperature of about 70 °C (= 158°F). Today processed chrome-tanned hides are used which can withstand temperatures of around 90 °C (= 194°F). The less a leather is re-oiled through care, the lower the temperature at which it will start to shrink.  THE TREATMENT OF HARDENED LEATHERFirst clean the leather with COLOURLOCK Mild Leather Cleaner. Important: Too much moisture can damage antique leather so it is advisable to use a foam, rather than liquid, cleaner and remove the residue with a slightly damp cloth. . Allow to dry naturally and away from heat and sunlight.Next repair cracks and rips with COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather before treating with Leather Softener. This is important as Leather Softener is oil-based, making it difficult for repair products to be absorbed. Apply Leather Softener with a sponge or a soft cloth. For best results, the softener must be applied on the reverse side (the layer facing the cushions on the inside). Because the surface is rougher, it is more receptive to treatment than the smooth side. Unless you are planning on carrying out further upholstery repairs, you are advised not to remove the covers for this treatment as old leather can tear or break easily.Let the leather rest for 24 hours to allow time for it to fully absorb the Leather Softener, then repeat. One litre is sufficient for an entire vehicle area. For individual upholstery parts use 250 ml.Next try and loosen the fibres by kneading the leather with your hands. Continue until the leather feels softer. But be careful as very old and shrunken leather can break easily. While the leather will never be as soft as it once was, you should still see a noticeable improvement. Professionals use a leather-softening tool to soften the leather (see video). After the final application of Leather Softener remove the residue with a soft cloth and let the leather rest for a week before carrying out further treatment and repairs. Before using repair products thoroughly degrease the area with COLOURLOCK Degreaser. To nourish and protect the leather, use COLOURLOCK Leather Protector and, if the leather is glossy or exposed to the weather, COLOURLOCK Elephant Leather Preserver offers added protection. Depending on the level of use a care treatment should be applied once or twice a year. Further treatments with Leather Softenerare not necessary. Amount: 250 ml. This is usually sufficient for one or two seats and several handbags/smaller suitcases ; 1 litre

Aniline Cream 150 ml
Aniline leathers are open-pore smooth leathers. Such leathers are wonderfully warm and natural, but more delicate than surface-dyed smooth leathers. Aniline leathers are not always the same. Some leathers have a fine grain and are pre-impregnated, other leathers are more coarse-pored and absorb any liquid immediately. Aniline Cream is suitable for the fine-pored and pre-impregnated leathers, and for the more delicate leathers, Impregnation and Aniline Protector are the first choice. Aniline Cream can also be used for greased and oiled leathers. Again, there are variances. Some greased or oiled leathers are very matte and coarse textured, others are fine grain and softer and silky matte. For the semi-gloss leathers, Aniline Cream is the first choice and for the matte and coarse grease leathers, Elephant Leather Preserver. For less common, more lustrous aniline leathers, Gloss Milk is the alternative to Aniline Cream. Adequate care is particularly important for open-pored leathers, so that the leather is somewhat less sensitive and can be cleaned more easily. However, the most important protection always remains a careful handling of the natural product leather. Because of the sensitivity of open-pored leathers, all products must always be tested first in the concealed area for changes! APPLICATION Because of the sensitivities of open-pored leathers, all products must always be tested for changes in the concealed area first! Never apply the products directly to the leather, but rather apply the cleaner to a sponge or cloth and always rub the care product into a soft cloth first. Always apply the products in a circular motion from seam to seam to avoid stains or streaks. For everyday care we recommend Aniline Cream. Aniline Cream is an effective stain protector and keeps the leather supple. Traces of use on greasy leather are evened out by Aniline Cream. Aniline Cream should only be applied to clean leather. Ask us for a suitable cleaner for your leather. Check the application of the Aniline Cream first on a concealed area for changes! Moisten a soft, lint-free cloth with the Aniline Cream and apply to the leather surface evenly from seam to seam in a circular motion. Allow to soak in briefly (10 min.) and repeat if necessary. New aniline leather should be treated several times in stress areas during initial treatment to prevent stains and discoloration. After application, heat the surface slightly with a hair dryer. This increases the protective effect. Stressed areas should be re-treated every three months. For less stressed areas, intervals of 6 to 12 months are sufficient. Older leathers or leathers that are regularly exposed to sunlight or other sources of heat should be additionally cared for with Aniline Protector. Aniline Protector provides the necessary re-fatting for dry leathers and protects against fading. For larger leather upholstery landscapes, we also carry Aniline Cream in liters. The products have a shelf life of several years if stored frost-free and not too warm.

LEISOL Quiet Cream 150 ml
LEISOL Quiet Cream prevents creaking noises and reduces wear caused by friction. LEISOL is a liquid lubricating varnish in a pump spray bottle. It can be applied to exposed surfaces and, because of its liquid nature, it is also easy to use in inaccessible areas. For rustproof and non-visible surfaces, use PEOX antifriction coating.Noise in vehicles has decreased significantly by more modern engines and noise insulation systems. In contrast, the percentage of moving parts in the vehicle has increased considerably. The seats can be adjusted in many variations, cup holders, toggle switches, and much more can lead to disturbing creaking, squeaking or rattling noises. In many years of working with the luxury segment of the automotive industry, LEDERZENTRUM GmbH has developed a range of anti-friction coatings that successfully eliminates these noises. During the development of the LIP ANTI-FRICTION COATINGS, two universal products have been developed which are the first choice in noise reduction for workshops, customer services and consumers. Both products are easy to use, create a transparent, durable, elastic, protective film which doesn't bind soil particles. Another benefit is the reduction in wear and tear. Friction sounds are always a sign of wear and tear!

PU Protector
PU leather is cheaper than standard leather, which is what makes it attractive, but is not as durable. It relies on the polyurethane coating for stability. This coating makes the leather feel colder than standard leather and it is more likely to stick to the skin. The polyurethane coating requires special care – normal leather care products will not penetrate, while the classic wax and oil treatments will cause damage. PU leather is also very sensitive to contact from skin and hair and can easily crack, which is why it needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly.Use a lint-free dry or slightly damp cloth to dust the surface. Then, every 3 to 6 months, apply COLOURLOCK PU Protector gently with a soft cloth. This will remove dirt and keep the surface smooth and glossy.Deep scratches and abrasions are difficult to treat. Sometimes light scratches can be removed by heating with a hair dryer. The PU coating has to be heated well to remove the scratches. In most cases, the scratches disappear almost completely. But this has to be done with extreme caution as excessive heating can cause irreparable damage to the coating. It’s advisable to test first by making similar scratches – but not too deep – on a hidden area. Where possible, areas that come into contact with skin and hair should, in addition to regular cleaning and treatment with PU Protector, be protected by pillows and blankets. Damaged PU coatings (matt, sticky, rough or cracked) can rarely be repaired. The options are to have the PU leather replaced by an upholsterer or buy new furniture.

Leather Sole Oil
The leather sole oil is the ideal leather care product for welted shoes with leather soles. Leather soles come in contact with moisture and must be maintained accordingly. The leather sole oil keeps the leather flexible, waterproofs it and increases the abrasion resistance of the sole.Amount: 150 ml. One bottle is sufficient to treat several pairs of shoes several times.APPLICATIONShake before use.Break-in new soles first so that the fiber structure of the outersole gets a bit rough and becomes receptive to the product. When using for the first time, apply the leather sole oil sparingly and evenly two to three times without completely soaking the leather. Apply with a cloth or brush until the sole is saturated. Repeat one-coat application two to four times a year. Caution: Leather oil can cause stains on porous upper leather.Attention!• If there are visible seams on the leather sole, please skip this area so that no oil gets into the shoe.• Do not overapply! Avoid oversaturating the sole, so that the oil does not go inside the shoe.• Do not treat the sole edge to avoid oil stains on the upper leather.• Porous leather soles are more sensitive to weather than rubber soles. Therefore wear weather-resistant footwear for snow and continuous rain instead of leather soled shoes.• This product is designed for outer shoe soles, it is not suitable for insoles.
